Beyond Digital Transformation: Exploring the Current State of AI with Numarics Co-Founder Kristian Kabashi

 Kristian Kabashi

Streamline your finances with Numarics' AI-powered solution

At Numarics, we are proud to be at the forefront of using AI to provide innovative solutions for financial management. Our company has its own data science team and offers automated accounting and document classification, among other services. We use national APIs to connect our engine to market data, allowing us to set benchmarks for SMEs. These benchmarks will be used in the development of a predictive digital Chief Finance Officer that can tell businesses exactly where they stand based on their transaction patterns, and where they can best grow or save to reach the benchmark for their industry.

What are the current limits of AI "intelligence"?

We believe that the current limitations of AI "intelligence" lie in its lack of imagination and creativity, which are essential for human innovation. AI operates through brute force, meaning it replicates what it has learned from its training data, documents, and sentences. However, it does not have the ability to generate novel ideas and is limited to the information it was trained on.

Despite these limitations, we believe that AI has already reached an extremely high level of performance and is rapidly advancing. We are at the beginning of an S-curve of innovation, which will be driven by tech titans like Google, IBM, Microsoft, and others who are now for the first time have the need to work on maintaining their market position. The limitations of AI are not related to its intelligence, but rather its cost and the computational power required to run it.

Are fears about AI intelligence overtaking human intelligence overblown?

We believe that the fears of AI intelligence surpassing human intelligence are not entirely overblown. AI has already surpassed human intelligence in certain areas, such as writing texts. It has reached a level that is better than most people who write texts, although it is not yet better than the best. However, it is not far from surpassing even the best copywriters. With AI, we are only at the beginning, and it's already breathtaking what it can do. It's just a matter of time before AI technologies reach a point where only a few geniuses will be able to compete with it. However, there will always be areas where human intelligence will excel, such as creativity, empathy, and complex problem-solving. AI will help us automate repetitive tasks, free up time for more meaningful work, and give us resources to find what we are best at. We see AI as a powerful tool that can enhance our abilities and enable us to achieve things that were previously impossible. It's up to us to ensure that we use AI in a responsible and ethical manner, and that we take advantage of its benefits while minimizing its risks.

How can researchers create General AI, and when will this happen?

In our opinion, the main reason why we do not have General AI yet is because we still do not understand what consciousness is. As human beings, we are still trying to figure out the nature of consciousness. Currently, AI is based on mathematical models and is fed with knowledge to produce sophisticated results, but in order to create General AI, we would first need to understand the essence of the soul. We are made up of atoms that are assembled together, yet we are alive. However, what really makes us conscious beings is still a mystery. This is what we think will eventually lead to the creation of General AI, although not necessarily by human design. It could happen as a result of some sort of accident. Ray Kurzweil calls this the Singularity. At present, the strongest computers in the world still operate on the principle of 1 and 0 and can only process information sequentially, unlike the human brain, which can process information simultaneously. The next frontier in this field is quantum computing, which operates like the human brain. With advancements in quantum computing and AI, General AI could be achieved relatively quickly.

"AI Multiplies Swiss Financial Experts' Expertise at Numarics"

At Numarics, we firmly believe that people will never be replaced by AI, and neither will our company. Swiss financial experts, accountants, and auditors solve the individual highly sophisticated challenges of our SME clients, only with a maximum of consulting time, as the paperwork is done by our engine. Their expertise is also multiplied by AI, as once solved for one entrepreneur, we are able to use AI to build the use case for more entrepreneurs facing a similar challenge.

Unlocking The Old Economy Of The Finance Industry

We make high-end financial knowledge accessible to any solopreneur, startup, or mid-sized business by measuring only against themselves, not against direct competitors. We take the approach of fitness tracking, where you would measure your weekly success and set goals for yourself, with the focus on motivating you to improve your own financial health.

Empowering Business Growth with Data-Driven Financial Decision-Making

At Numarics, we believe that financial health is critical to the success of any business, big or small. We aim to empower our clients with the tools they need to monitor their financial progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions that drive growth. By measuring performance against their own past results, rather than against their competitors, our clients are better equipped to make informed decisions and take actionable steps to improve their bottom line. Think of us as your AI finance officer, helping you stay on track and achieve your business goals.
